Haptic gloves in training environment

I wonder how effective these haptic gloves are in training? Microsoft have been working on a haptic cane controller to emulate use of a white cane to detect obstacles in VR environment. Could this be the missing link? If so I am very excited to see them in action: Senseglove partners with UK rail operator.
